Cassie Headrick, volleyball coach at Centennial High School in Frisco ISD, has been named the new Denton High Head Girls’ Volleyball Coach.
“We are very excited about bringing someone with as much experience as Coach Headrick has on staff,” said District Athletic Director Joey Florence. “Her 23 years of experience are exactly the boost this exciting program needs right now to help get to the next level.”
Coach Headrick has worked in Frisco ISD since 2010. She was originally hired to be the volleyball coach at Wester Middle where she taught for five years. She was then elevated to the junior varsity job at Centennial High, where she has coached for the past three years.
Prior to that, Coach Headrick was the head volleyball coach at the University of North Texas where she coached for 10 years. During that time, she supervised all the components of the NCAA Division I program, including recruiting, travel and budget management.
Coach Headrick began her career at an assistant volleyball coach at the University of Arkansas- Little Rock, her alma mater. During her four years, UALR earned three Sun Belt Conference championships.
In 1995, she earned distinctions as a NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee. She was named a NJCAA All-American Setter in 1991.
Coach Headrick earned her associate’s degree from Eastern Wyoming College and her bachelor’s degree in Biology from UALR.
