Both Bronco water polo squads were in action on Saturday at the 1st Annual Flower Mound Marcus High School Invitational at the Westlake Aquatics Center in Lewisville.

The teams came away with 1-1 records at the tournament.

The Bronco Boys squad played an exciting game against Cistercian High (Irving), but came up short 8-7 when the Hawks broke the tie by scoring with 17 seconds left in the game.

In their second game, Denton defeated a pesky JV team from Flower Mound High 11-9.

Sophomore Ashlyn DuVall seeks to pass or shoot in Denton’s 14-6 victory over Denton Ryan.

Bronco Girls were matched up against their cross-town rivals in the tourney. Denton Guyer is proving this year as having one of the top teams in the state. They made a loud statement in the first game by beating Denton High 14-1.

However, the Broncos rebounded in their second game by defeating Denton Ryan 14-6.

Next on the schedule for the Denton water polo teams: The Denton Invitational Tournament at the Denton Natatorium. This will be a key tournament for the Broncos as they continue to battle for good seeding positions in the TISCA North Texas Regional Tournament in three weeks at Southlake Carroll.
